Assistant professor at Departamento of Conservation-Restoration, NOVA-FCT
Susana França de Sá is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Conservation and Restoration at NOVA FCT. Her research focuses on the development of conservation strategies for modern materials and contemporary art, with a special emphasis on plastics, foams, rubbers, and textiles with synthetic coatings. She has been particularly dedicated to formulating effective preventive conservation solutions and sustainable methods for preserving these challenging materials. She is currently coordinating the InBloom project (2023.11375.PEX), which investigates the phenomenon of blooming in polyurethane-coated fabrics in fashion and design collections.
