Pedro Almeida

Coordinator | Intellectual Property  & Tech Transfer Office

Pedro is currently the Coordinator of the Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Office at IRIS, supporting NOVA.id.FCT and NOVA FCT scientific community in the valorization of knowledge and technology, acting at the interface between Academy and Industry. With a background in environmental sciences, Pedro hold a MsC in Environmental Engineering from University of Aveiro. Pedro has worked as a researcher in environmental economy (University of Aveiro) and as a trainee in the environmental department in the public sector, where he developed an environmental education program. Following that, he became an environmental advisor in a multinational company in the plastic and metal packaging sector and before joining IRIS he worked in costumer support for an American company in the mobile technologies sector.

Throughout the years Pedro has played a key role in promoting, developing, and mentoring IRIS acceleration programme – R2 Value, assisting scientists in developing their business models, also providing mentoring in the Emporia4kt project as well as an invited professor at the Entrepreneurship Course at NOVA FCT, for the past 4 editions. Alongside you expertise in scientific and technological/industrial areas, Pedro highly values creativity and communication as means to promote ideas and projects.
