Researcher and Associate Professor NOVA FCT
PhD in Sanitary Engineering from NOVA, with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from NOVA FCT.
Currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Sciences and Environmental Engineering (DCEA) at NOVA FCT, where she teaches courses in the areas of water supply and treatment, wastewater drainage and treatment, urban systems in cities, aquatic monitoring, and laboratory techniques in the environmental field. She is also a member of the Department Council.
Her research is conducted at MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (NOVA FCT Campus), with a particular focus on optimizing treatment systems, advanced wastewater treatment processes, and emerging concern compounds.
She has coordinated and participated in various funded research projects and has contributed to multiple studies and consulting projects carried out by DCEA NOVA FCT for public and private organizations, both nationally and internationally.
Throughout her career, she has placed great emphasis on disseminating the results of her work through scientific publications, participation in national and international conferences, and the presentation of two patents, aiming to contribute to addressing current societal challenges.
