Associate Professor, NOVA FCT
Isabel Gomes is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT) and a researcher at the NOVA Math research center at NOVA FCT.
Her research focuses on linear optimization modeling and metaheuristics. She has developed optimization models to solve practical problems in logistics management, such as waste collection routing, supply chain planning and design, facility location, and social care logistics.
She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Industrial Management from the Technical University of Lisbon, where she addressed the design and planning of closed-loop supply chains. She has been involved in various educational programs at NOVA FCT, from undergraduate to doctoral studies, and is the former coordinator of the Master’s in Mathematics and Applications at NOVA FCT.
