He is Vice-President of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society (2020-2024) and Member of the TC202 &#8211; Transportation Geotechnics of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). He participated and coordinated almost forty relevant research national and international projects. He supervised or co-supervised four Ph.D. dissertations and more than thirty MSc theses; he is the author or co-author of three theses, fourteen technical books or chapters, almost fifty research papers peer-reviewed indexed journals and near to one hundred and fifty conference papers; his h-index in Scopus is 20. He has also authored or co-authored almost two hundred and fifty Technical reports, twelve Technical specifications and received four Scientific and technical awards. He participated almost three hundred times in technical and scientific events and delivered almost sixty keynote lectures. He also integrated eight times the jury of PhD thesis and almost fifty times of MSc thesis.
