She obtained her degree in Civil Engineering (1983, Ing., with distinction) and in Mathematics (1990, Mgr.) from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University and from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague, Czechia, respectively. She completed her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering(1997) at the Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico of the University of Lisbon. From 1985 until now, she has been involved in teaching at four different institutions. She has authored or co authored three thesis, one textbook and more than one hundred scientific publications in international journals, books, and conference proceedings (h-index in Scopus: 14), which together with reports and other publications completes almost two hundred works; is an associate editor of the Journal of Vibration Engineering &amp; Technologies and a member of the editorial board of three other international journals; was the chairman of three international conferences, with another in preparation; delivered several keynote lectures and has been invited to integrate numerous scientific and steering committees. She often participated in the evaluation of European projects, supervised one Ph.D. and several MSc theses, which together with scientific supervisions totalizes more than thirty supervisions.
