{"id":309,"date":"2021-04-12T17:20:37","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T17:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staging.nexoscreative.com\/novaschool\/?post_type=faculty_nova&#038;p=309"},"modified":"2021-10-17T14:58:00","modified_gmt":"2021-10-17T14:58:00","slug":"jose-barata","status":"publish","type":"faculty_nova","link":"https:\/\/execed.fct.unl.pt\/en\/faculty_nova\/jose-barata\/","title":{"rendered":"Jos\u00e9 Barata"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><p>Jos\u00e9<strong> <\/strong>is Professor of Electrical and Computing Engineering at the NOVA-FCT, and is senior researcher at the Centre of Technology and Systems at the UNINOVA Institute, where he is also coordinating the research group RICS \u2013 Robotics and Industrial Complex that develops research in the areas of service robots and smart industry.\u00a0<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>He also has coordinated two National Projects from the Portuguese science council in the areas of smart manufacturing and service robots and several industrial projects related to industry 4.0 and autonomous service robots for surveillance and agriculture.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His main research interests are in the area of SMART Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) with particular focus on Complex Adaptive Systems, involving intelligent manufacturing devices, and Robotics systems, focused on multi robot interactions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jos\u00e9 received is PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialisation in Robotics and Integrated Manufacturing from NOVA-FCT. He also has a Master degree in Computer Science from the NOVA FCT.
