Coding & Programming Course

The Coding & Programming Course, integrated into Samsung Innovation Campus and delivered at NOVA FCT, combines Generative AI, programming, data analytics and digital technologies through an immersive and hands-on learning experience. Participants will build a strong foundation in Python programming, computational thinking and mathematical reasoning, while gaining practical experience in AI applications, algorithms, data analysis and interactive dashboard development. Through collaborative projects, real-world challenges and experimentation with emerging technologies, participants will learn how to create, implement and communicate innovative technology solutions for the digital economy.

Who should participate in this program?

Anyone interested in pursuing a career in technology, software development, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence or digital innovation. Participants should have prior experience with Python programming and an interest in Generative AI, problem-solving, data analysis and emerging digital technologies.

What will the program look like?
  • In-person, at NOVA FCT’s Caparica Campus, starting in mid-October 2026;
  • 3 hours per day, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, two times per week;
  • Hands-on learning experiences, practical challenges and AI-powered applications throughout the programme;
  • Pair programming, collaborative learning and team-based activities;
  • Quizzes and assessments to track progress throughout the curriculum;
  • Final project and/or hackathon experience, carried out in groups;
  • Mentorship and guidance from instructors during the project phase;
  • Dedicated support sessions during project development, experimentation and implementation.

Intermediate

Basic knowledge of Python programming, analytical thinking and a foundational understanding of mathematics, statistics and problem-solving concepts, combined with an interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and emerging digital technologies.

Approx. 5 months

Includes 173 hours of learning activities, combining classroom sessions, hands-on learning experiences, collaborative projects and a final project and/or hackathon experience.

Requirements

  • Aged between 18 and 29 years;

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, as all classes will be conducted in English;

  • Basic knowledge of Python programming;

  • Foundational understanding of mathematics, statistics, analytical thinking and problem-solving concepts;

  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, digital technologies and innovation;

  • Personal computer to bring to classes;

  • Successful completion of all stages of the admission process.
